The IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a training and certification granted by the Institute of Printed Circuits/Wire Harness Manufacturers Association. It describes the criteria for acceptability for crimped, mechanically secured, and soldered interconnection and the corresponding restraining / lacing criteria related to the assembly of cables and harnesses.
The IPC/WHMA-A-620 certificate is granted to individuals who successfully pass a training and certification program based on an IPC standard with the title “Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies”.
The WHMA 620 sets the level of quality WHMA members and their customers agree on for what is acceptable in the workmanship of their cables and harnesses. It is currently one of the most important standards used to measure the acceptability of materials, processes, and tests in the wire harness and cable industry. Its policies, requirements and practices on the manufacture of cable, harness and wire assemblies demonstrates the association’s commitment for the continuous improvement of product quality and reliability.
The IPC/WHMA-A-620 training and certification is for individuals that are directly involved in the manufacture, assembly and inspection of cable and wire harness assemblies. It is especially useful to manufacturing or production managers, engineers, supervisors, quality control, and quality assurance personnel as the training will make them Certified IPC Trainers who are authorized to teach others on the application and use of the IPC 620 standard.
Any individual who wants to obtain an IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification should attend a training course at an IPC Licensed Certification Center such as Blackfox. Our IPC 620 training course is designed to ensure impeccable accuracy in determining the difference between acceptable and unacceptable cable or wire harness assemblies pursuant to the quality guidelines of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
An IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is proof of your commitment to produce cables and wire harness assemblies of acceptable quality.
