COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers qualification and performance of rigid printed boards including: single-sided, double-sided, with or without plated-through holes, multilayer with or without blind/buried vias and metal core boards. It addresses final finish and surface plating coating requirements, conductors, holes/vias, frequency of acceptance testing and quality conformance as well as electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements.
Participants must be able to read and proficiently interpret the language the class and exams are presented in. Exams are available in limited additional languages upon request. Successful passing of written exams is required to attain certification. Two attempts at any exam are included in tuition paid. Additional charges will apply for more than two exam attempts.
COURSE STRUCTURE
There are no optional modules for CIS students in this course. CIS, CIT and CSE students must attend the entire course.
Learners will have the ability to understand acceptance criteria and process requirements such as:
- Material selection for procurement
- Surface finishes
- Hole plating thickness
- Copper cap plating of filled holes
- Laminate cracks, voids, measling & weave exposure
- Acceptance testing and frequency
