Tom McCarthy

Master IPC Trainer

Tom grew up around electronics in his dad’s TV and electronics repair business removing and replacing 25″ picture tubes (CRT’s) at 12 years old. Started in hi-reliability electronics and certified at Picatinny Arsenal in NJ to Navy Weapon Spec WS-6536 in 1987 working on the Aegis GMS. In early 90’s Tom was trained and certified as the company Category C Instructor for Mil-STD-2000 for his family electronics manufacturing company, TJM Electronics Associates in Bristol, PA. In addition to certifying as the IPC CIT for their Arizona operation, Tom is an AS9100 QMS Auditor performing both internal and supplier audits.

 

Before working for Blackfox, Tom’s primary responsibilities were in operations management (profit and loss) for their Arizona operation. Tom has been an effective quality and manufacturing process engineer for over 25 years, developing IQ, OQ, PQ on our automated equipment lines for medical device customers, oven reflow processes, tooling,  in-circuit and functional test platforms.

 

Personal – Tom has three children, three grandchildren, a bulldog and a piti rescue. He is a professional musician / drummer, and enjoys riding motorcycles.

 

Tom is currently a Master IPC Trainer or Certified IPC Trainer in the following standards:

  • IPC-A-610 CIT
